As of today I am 6 months away from hitting my Jesus year! And I know its going to be a golden/glorious one! When I really sit down and think about what this year has brought so far, I realize its probably been the craziest few months I've ever had, and because of it I have learned so much. With the embarking of a new journey there are a few things I'd like to share that I have learned within the past 6 months.
1. Be true to who you are! This is something I am still learning to be an expert on, but have been loving the journey. You will always find your true tribe, and supporters by just being you. When you aren't true to yourself, the only person who is truly hurt, is you.
2. If something scares you, do it! I am always one to accept starting a new adventure, however a scary one is something I have ran in the opposite direction or thought twice about in the past. But what I have learned is, some of the best experiences come from the scary moments. These moments help define who you are as a person.
3. Always ask questions. If you don't know something or are trying to have a better understanding about something, ask the questions that some aren't willing to. You will see things differently when you open your mouth to verbalize your confusion because it can only lead you to something beautiful.
4. Never regret anything. This is something I have always believed and continue to tell people. Everything you have been through has taught you something, whether you wanted the lesson or not. I say this for good and bad things. You never fail, you just learn.
5.It's ok not to be ok. People are always trying to be consistently happy or up beat, or whatever society deems normal. But if you aren't ok, that is ok too! You are allowed to have your moments and then when you are ready, talk to someone or do whatever helps bring back the joy. Do whatever feels right for you at the moment, just don't live in it for too long.
6.Live in the moment. We don't always have to be on social media 24/7, and when you aren't, you truly get to be in the moment and delve into life. This past November I took the month off of all social media to focus on myself and those around me. You don't realize how much time you waste being on social media because it has occupied all of your attention. Don't pay too much attention to other people's lives that you neglect yours.
While these are some pretty simple suggestions, really think about how they can be applied to your life. What does it mean to you to be better, stronger, and happier. It's just the simply things in life that can help change it all. I am so excited to get closer towards my golden year and happy to have you guys to share it with.
Happy Half Birthday To Me!!
