Before reading, I did say this blog would be a real and honest personal and fashion blog, and I meant it. Well this post should prove it since people are always being so hush about everything, I decided to voice it.
Last summer during my time at my old job in Brooklyn, my coworkers and I were just hanging out shooting the wind when we had a very random conversation. There was a special on 20/20 about sugar babies and we all started talking about would we ever do it or not. One of my coworker told me that she in fact has done it quite a few times. I was quite surprised but knowing her, she’s always been a straight shooter about hers. So she told us how she was on seeking arrangements. This site basically was for women looking for sugar daddies/mommies and vice versa. She told us there was one guy who just wanted to meet up with her at Starbucks just to talk. She went on enough dates with him to pay for her Celine bag. Now if you don’t know how much that is, it’s a $3,000 bag. Get my drift?
So what did the whole team decide to do? We all signed up on the site just for fun to see what could come out of it. Now to get something straight, a lot of the men on the site range in age but tend to be Caucasian, Asian, Indian, and European men. After signing up, I knew they were looking for the mixed/ mocha-esq, long weave, or curly haired girl, which we can all see that I am nothing like. So I had my reservations about it. Nonetheless I signed up. I had plenty of onlookers, however very few messages sent my way. Yet the messages I did receive, made me want to throw up in my mouth. How is it that I ALWAYS have the purvey men try to talk to me. I blocked the pervs and just had to hope for the best.
Recently I have a girlfriend of mine who had been talking about going back to Florida to visit family but was strapped for cash. She admittedly told me she was on the site, even though she was originally weary of what I would say [what you'll learn about me eventually is I will never knock something until I've tried it]. She explained that a friend of hers also has a part time gig and basically lives off of 3 different sugar daddies. [Insert shocked face emoji] After much thought, she went on her first date with a sugar daddy, who ended up paying for her flight, and she lived happily ever after. Side bar, she never spoke to that guy again. Must be nice...
To date I haven’t erased the page, hoping to find my knight and moneybag armor but til then I tend to just leave the page hanging. However, while a lot of people seem to be very hush about it, I have met a lot of girls I know personally that are on the site. I guess everyone is looking for some cash money love.
Maybe I should try sugar babies next?
Please note: Never judge a person on how they choose to live their life...this is still an on-going experiment. But I will say, I have never been blessed with a sugar daddy but I've been blessed with great [non-sugar daddy] people in my life lol.
